Sony HPTCS with all features on

Project Description

This project addresses the safety of pedestrians who are walking on the streets with headphones on. It aims to develop a new concept for a headphone product that investigates the use of haptics or sound through vibration to decrease vehicle-related accidents and injuries for pedestrians. This is done by converting sounds into vibration via vibrations modules placed around the headband that goes around the back of the head, covering the blind spots of the pedestrian while walking. Vibrations could be a more effective warning than audio cues, since the ears are already experiencing sensory deprivation from listening to music with the addition of noise cancelling technology. Throughout the years, headphone companies have been developing new technologies and features to help keep their users safe while using their products on the streets. This project might provide an alternative solution to keep them safe that is new but familiar at the same time. Additionally, this device includes a Nightsafe feature. Activating it turns on lights on the left and right earcups, making the user more visible at night.
