by Cooper Thomas

Jet Rescue is the rescue board of the 21st century

Project Description

Jet Rescue is a concept for a self-propelled rescue board intended for Surf Life Saving Australia. This Australian product aims to achieve both faster and safer water rescues in emergency situations, which will directly improve the health condition outcome for non-fatal drowning patients. It encourages more people to live a more active and healthy lifestyle by giving them the confidence to participate in water-based coastal activities with greater peace of mind about their safety.

The rescue board is constructed out of carbon fibre through a resin infusion process and weighs approx 30kg. Power is supplied by a 14s14p lithium ion battery pack producing 12kW. The board is controlled through an Arduino-based waterproof remote featuring an LED tachometer, 128x64 OLED info display, throttle trigger, and a momentary boost button.

Capable of speeds up to 50km/h

Dimensions: Length = 2400mm, Width = 600mm

Integrated jet drive system
