Time Machine
by Yichen Shi
Project Description
Academic procrastination, prevalent among 90% of university students, involves delaying tasks, which negatively impacts performance and causes anxiety. Procrastination, driven by internal factors like anxiety and external factors such as task difficulty, significantly affects long-term projects, exams, and assignments. However, current interventions are mostly instructor-led and resource-intensive. Recognising the need for practical solutions, the Time Machine explores the possibility of an innovative, cost-effective method by creating a physical product to simplify and enhance time management for students.
The Time Machine for students prioritises interactivity over screen-based technology, offering a tactile experience with hands-on features. With the use of the management tool, students can break down complex assignments into actionable steps, which encourages them to prioritise, organise, and track their study progress, fostering productivity and success in academic pursuits. In addition, the design prioritises easy-to-use, interactive interfaces to enable effortless integration into everyday routines.
Using a gamified design, it aims to motivate and encourage university students by transforming time management into an exciting journey.
