Project Description
ProductiMate aims to minimise distraction in our ever-so-connected society among people of all ages, helping individuals and households to stay motivated throughout their daily lives. The product aims to help the user concentrate, be more productive, and stay organised for longer by utilising lights and sound. Furthermore, it assists the user in taking breaks whenever the user sees fit by its novel method of calculating each productive and break session.
By gamifying the product’s core functionality, users can have an enjoyable experience while benefiting from improved daily routines and habits. With an abundance of technology at the users’ reach, especially among young children and students, it is necessary to reduce any instances of hyperactivity to curb the growth of ADHD symptoms. With issues such as increases in depression, anxiety, cyberbullying, and poor student and professional performance, it is imperative to provide a possible positive outcome.
The user can enter productive or break mode by flipping the light tube. Each mode is interconnected and visualised with a wave of lights filling and depleting the tube. A productive user is rewarded via a break, calculated by how long the user stayed productive, providing a sense of agency. Including a dial allows the user to set their own productive/break ratio. A soft chime emitted via an inbuilt speaker prompts the user to take necessary breaks. With colours scientifically proven to provide extra concentration, it faintly illuminates the area, stimulating the user to stay productive and relaxing the user while on break.
