Project Description

The Compact Couch is a piece of furniture designed for renters that can be easily taken with them and adapted to any new residence. Nationwide, people are seeing their rent being drastically increased, which has led to more and more people moving house to somewhere more affordable. Unfortunately, furniture is one of the bulkiest and heaviest objects people can own and can be difficult and expensive to move.

I designed this two-seater couch to be able to be compacted down into a single-seater or completely folded up in order to be easily moved to a new residence. When fully compacted it is small and light enough to be easily carried by one person, but when expanded out, it can comfortably seat two.

It is designed to be able to suit whatever living situation you are in, whether you have downsized to a small apartment and need a single seater for reading, or have moved into a share house and want something to relax on with your friends.
