Lash Light: Emotionally Durable Modular Lighting
by Chris Scope
Project Description
The Lash Light modular lighting system embodies the fundamentals of light. The image of a fireplace creating a warm ambient glow is suggested in the light units leaning together in a decorative structure, connecting the user to the comfort of home and safety. When there is a task that needs to be well lit for proper focus, the Lash Light can be easily mounted on top of the workstation. If you need to move around in the dark, each Lash Light is independently powered and can be carried to illuminate the way.
The Lash light gives users the tools to create a structure of their own, with an opportunity to play with different forms for different tasks, adapting the object to their changing lifestyles and changing needs and personalities. Through these design features, the user should establish and maintain a strong emotional connection with the Lash Light, which becomes an emotionally durable product. This relationship maximises its lifecycle, supports sustainable behaviour, and resists the impacts of overconsumption.
