CSID

Two master dials to select applications on the capacitive display

Project Description

CSID (Customisable, Safe, Intuitive Dashboard) is a reaction to the modern trend of touchscreen-heavy car interiors. This project adopts a research-led design in order to develop a safe and intuitive driving environment, where existing analogue and digital features are integrated, as well as introducing an aspect of customisation. The final design is a reimagined dashboard and steering wheel combination consisting of physical dials that are within easy reach to control certain applications. Different applications are assigned by the driver and situated in the master dials on a capacitive screen, where this notion of customisation is made possible. The steering wheel consists of a fixed central hub for maximum viewing area for the displays; the controls are stationary and always positioned correspondingly.

Bio

I am a dedicated final year product design student at the University of Technology, Sydney, eager to discover, learn, and be inspired. Ever since childhood, design is something I meticulously considered and recognized, and I always admired people in the field of automotive design. I hope to bring my skills and passion to design advanced, human-centred products that ensure a balance of form and function.
