Lay
by Christopher Adriel
Project Description
Lay is a Japanese-inspired, multifunction table concept made to accommodate small living spaces. It offers four trays that are customisable in length to serve multiple guests at a time, and when unused, can easily be retracted back to the table. With this feature, instead of having various tables to serve guests, one could accommodate for needs as they arise, and with that, save a lot of space.
Since living spaces have to meet the changing and various needs of their users, products need to be designed to take up less space but serve more. Lay fills a gap in the market, providing an effective solution by reducing furniture clutter and meeting the needs of users at an affordable price.
If different functions and purposes can be accommodated by everyday, affordable products within a small space, the wellbeing and comfort of users are supported. In a consumerist, densely populated society, steps to simplify the way people live and reduce stress are needed, and this product contributes to that vision.
