Sky Lantern Bedside Lamp
by Shujie Lin
Project Description
With the improvement of people’s quality of life, their aesthetic awareness is also improving. This can be seen in the design of lamps. People cannot live without light. Because of this necessity and strong dependence, design in lighting should start from providing convenience for users and creating better living conditions. Nowadays, lighting is not merely a technical electronic appliance. It is more customised to satisfy users’ requirements for working, reading, and living. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, when a person’s basic physiological needs are met, he or she begins to pursue higher-level needs, such as belonging and love. Differences in illuminance and colour temperature give people psychological satisfaction and the use of lighting in different situations varies. My aim is to help the young generation in society be free in their own world This lamp combines traditional Chinese and modern elements. People would put up sky lanterns at traditional festivals to express their yearning for a better future
