Project Description

This project delved into the world of user experience and food wastage in the home, investigating participants' pain points, aspirations, and common behaviours. The goal was to design a product-service system that responds to the needs of all stakeholders. The result is a revolutionary community composting initiative, a system that motivates people to fill up their council-issued bins through the opportunity to collect their fertiliser or give it back to the community.

A user-centric design approach to Composter & Co explicitly targets issues related to the system's commitment and convenience. The final concept supplies users with household bins that are then emptied by the local council weekly and the contents delivered to Composter & Co sites. This regime allows users to be part of a complex system without overhauling their routines, while also being incentivised.
